Road Allowance Kitten Play
Greystone Heights presents Road Allowance Kitten, based on the Children’s book Road Allowance Kitten by Wilfred Burton. Based on a true story, the play gives a glimpse into the history of the Road Allowance Métis and their forced removal from their humble, but beloved, homes on the road allowance. Métis Dance

Open to all GD Local 11 members and non-members, Métis and non-Métis folk. Everyone! Parents come and stay with their child(ren). Bring your dancing shoes/moccasins!

Gabriel Dumont Local #11 is offering Children’s Metis Dance with Johnny Caisse. When your register, please indicate if your child is a beginner or intermediate. Both are on the same day, one follows the other.
While the children are dancing the parents work on projects to create their child’s (children’s) outfit. No experience necessary. Parents stay during the hour lesson.
This session goes for ten weeks starting January 11th. Weekly attendance is expected. It is not a drop in type of program.
The children will be learning Metis dance: squares, contra dances, social dances and various jigs steps.
Metis Dance for Adults (16 years and older)
Come learn some Metis dances: squares (first change, second change, third change), contra dances (la danse du crochet, etc.) and jig steps. You may learn some social dances (heel toe polka, etc.) too.
No experience necessary, just some energy and willingness to learn.
Bring your own water bottle and comfortable footwear for dancing (leather soled shoes, moccasins, etc.).
Sessions will be taught by Johnny Caisse every Wednesday starting January 14th @ 6:30 p.m.
